COBBINTERVIEW.jpg

I know that understanding your culture is imperative. You will not trust just anyone with your darkest secrets or fears, let alone ask for help. Therefore, it is important that you know I am a former Smyrna police officer, Acworth/Smyrna Detention officer, and ChattComm911 dispatcher, as well as being married to a Cobb County fire fighter.

My heart is to guide, direct, and equip first responders, who need freedom from the demons that torment you mentally, physically, and spiritually. As Cobb County Department of Public Safety Lead Clinician, my role is to partner with you to identify goals and the objectives to reach those goals in a timely fashion. I want you in and out of my office as quickly as possible, so you can live your best life now.

I am EMDR trained and will use this approach when working with you (if appropriate), to quickly deal with stress or PTSD symptoms. Some symptoms to watch for: nightmares, avoiding things that remind you of an incident, not being able to enjoy activities you used to, withdrawing/isolating self, increased irritability, hypervigilant “on edge”, exaggerated startle response, lack of concentration, struggling with sleep (more than normal), or increased

alcohol/pill intake. You DO NOT have to suffer alone and please DO NOT believe the lie that it has to be this way, because it does not. If you do not want to talk about feelings, we do not have to! Sometimes pride is what keeps us from freedom, but know FREEDOM is possible, no matter how bad it may be now. Together, we can come up with a plan of attack to start thriving in life again.

I have been providing therapeutic services to children, teens, adults, couples, and families since graduating from Argosy University with a Master of Arts in Counseling degree in 2010. I also obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice degree in 1999 from Bethany College in Kansas. I have experience working with several community-based mental health agencies and Intensive Outpatient Treatment facilities.

I have had a private practice for the past 9 years. I have individual/group work experience with teens and adults who struggle with anger control. I have received extensive training and supervision in addiction. I am trained in Trauma-Focused CBT, parenting skills (Positive Parenting with a Plan), and relationship and marriage education. Over the years, I have seen individuals of all ages for a variety of reasons including trauma, abuse, anger control, anxiety, grief, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, etc. I have worked with children as young as 4 years old through trauma, divorce, behavioral or emotional struggles. I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC), a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS).

When you are ready to make the call, my office number is 657-229-0679. My office is located at

376 Power Springs St Suite 140 Marietta. Ga 30064

I look forward to working with you.
